Where are the Graduates Now?

           Perspectives has been offered  in central Arkansas each spring since January, 2001.  The following is a sample of alumni who have applied the principles of Perspectives by ministering cross-culturally, locally or globally, or by serving as mobilizers.  The year that each took Perspectives is in parenthesis.  An asterisk (*) indicates a pseudonym or only the first name.

Megan* (2002) is serving as a two-year journeyman in North Africa on a Collegiate Outreach Team with the International Mission Board and previously served on staff at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and as class coordinator for the Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and Hot Springs, Arkansas, Perspectives classes.

Josh* (2003)and Kay (2006) Adams are in the Middle East serving in an administrative role with International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Jennifer Alexander (2006) served for one year as website coordinator for the Eurasia region of  Nazarene Missions International and ministered to Europeans through everyday contact.

Jim Allen (2001) was a mobilizer serving as the coordinator for the Little Rock, Arkansas, Perspectives class for three years and currently serves as a missions consultant with Global Focus helping churches establish and/or refine their missions policy.

Candy Barnes (2005) is studying for a bachelor’s degree in nursing in Little Rock, Arkansas, preparing to be a medical missionary in an Asian country.

Brian and Megan Barr (both 2004) are currently serving on staff with the mobilization division of the U.S. Center For World Mission in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he assists Perspectives alumni with resources and matching alumni and mission agencies’ resources.

Charlie Beckman (2001) is a mobilizer serving as the coordinator for the Little Rock, Arkansas, area Perspectives classes.

Ramon Chaparro (2005) is serving with ICON working with American and international students at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.

Jason Clark (2006) has volunteered for a work-related transfer to Honduras so that he can minister cross-culturally with Honduran ministries.

Rodney (2003) and Clarissa (2004) Davidson, and family, served in an orphanage with African Children’s Mission in Uganda.

David Geidl (2006), with his wife, Amanda (2006), and family, is in a family medical residency and they are preparing to serve long-term in medical mission work and church planting.

Amy Green (2005) is serving in the Dominican Republic with Students International working as an occupational therapist in a special education school helping to improve children with disabilities and ministering to high school and college students.

Kay Harris* (2007) along with her husband, Chuck, and family are ministering in Asia with an English-teaching ministry.

Rusty Hart* (2003), with his family, is serving as the strategy coordinator in a region of Russia with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Adam Johnston* (2005) is preparing to go to language school and after completion to go to a Middle East country.

Mickey (2006) and Betty Gail (2005) Jones are mobilizers serving as the coordinators for the Batesville, Arkansas, Perspectives class.

Terry Lawler (2006) is a mobilizer serving as a co-coordinator for the Hot Springs, Arkansas, Perspectives class.

Rebecca Lee (2006) is on staff at Metro Student Ministry in Little Rock, Arkansas, ministering to international students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and to health professional students at the University of Arkansas Medical School.

Terra Lemeron (2006) is serving in North Africa with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Kevin and Page McKelvy (both 2001) are mobilizers serving as coordinators for the Conway, Arkansas, Perspectives class.  Kevin is also the missions/worship pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Conway, Arkansas.  And Page is on staff with The Traveling Team ministry of Student Mobilization in Conway, Arkansas.

Meredith McMahon (2005) is studying for a master’s degree in Intercultural Studies at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, preparing for international missions.

Chuck* & Joy Miller (both 2006) are serving in an Asian country in an English-teaching ministry.

Mark* & Sandra (both 2001) Moore ministered in south Asia for one year and currently serve on the staff with the mobilization division of the U.S. Center for World Mission, Fayetteville, Arkansas, assisting alumni and mobilization projects and training and developing staff.

Jake Newton* is serving with Antioch Ministries International ministering to an unreached group in the Middle East.

Josh and Emily (both 2006) Richardson have moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where Josh will study toward his MBA at the University of Arkansas so they can live in a country where they can minister to an unreached people group.

Eric and Meridy Roberts, and family, live in Benton, Arkansas, where he serves as the Missions Pastor at the First Baptist Church.

Valerie Rosentreter (2005) is serving spiritually and administratively in an orphanage in the poor mountainous area of southwest Honduras sharing the love and mercy of Jesus Christ with children who have never experienced that kind of love and mercy.

Luke Seager* (2003) is founder of Every Nation Ministries and sends missionaries and plans, facilitates, and directs groups on short-term mission trips.

John and Gloria Sewall (both 2001) are serving on staff with the U.S. Center For World Mission in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Ian and Jenny Stephens (both 2005) are serving in an orphanage in Swaziland with TEAM Serve.

Rosie Stephens (2001) serves as international ministries director at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Lewis (2007) and Melody Taylor, and their family, are serving in an orphan village with Rafiki Foundation near Nairobi, Kenya.

George* & Sandra Templeton (both 2001), and family, are preparing to serve in south Asia beginning in August, 2007, with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Gary and Sandra Welchman (both 2003) served two years with World Gospel Outreach in Honduras where he served as ranch construction manager and she served as an accountant.

Johnny Wells* (2005) serves on the staff of Every Nation Ministries and sends missionaries and plans, facilitates, and directs groups on short-term mission trips.
